CariFree To Reduce Tooth Decay

Dental Caries is a ph balance disease that causes the teeth to degrade and form cavities. When we eat or drink, the ph level in our mouth lowers for an extended period of time and causes a breakdown of the mouth’s biofilm. This pulls necessary building blocks such as calcium and phosphorous from the teeth so acidic bacteria can thrive, causing the teeth to demineralize and acid producing cariogenic material thrive. This situation produces cavities over time.
If the teeth’s biofilm remains with a high level of acidity, the teeth will continue to demineralize and new decay will keep occurring.
CariFree is a management system that removes acidic biofilm and elevates the ph back to neutral to create a health environment for natural calcium and phosphorous to resume protecting the teeth.
The CariFree is a system for CAMBRA (CAri’s Management By Risk Assessment), where, during a routine exam, patients are measured for risk of dental carries through a series of questions about dental habits. This is followed by a one-minute chairside test conducted during a dental exam that will assess the status of our patient’s mouth.
Lakeview Family Dentistry uses the results of these short tests to create a treatment plan to restore your mouth’s natural biofilm and prevent tooth decay.
